Glorious!
I've had the top down two days in a row...loving my timelessly stylish cowboy hat!
And, I've been on the road. Two trips to Sooke, about 45 minutes West which means two stops at the Potholes!
The "Potholes" is a cool, mountain river with a pebble bottom and rocky shore...Refreshing. Some areas upstream are extremely deep having been formed by constant rushing water and large boulders being spun around in the tumult and grinding these holes in the water that go black in the middle its soooo deep. Folks dive in the abyss from the cliffs above but, not this guy!
Was also up North of the Malahat or "The Hat". Developement is spreading to every inch of the South Island, it seems. I drove and drove up a mountain side to find my client and took my time slowly rolling back down a road I didn't know anything about an hour and a half earlier. I think it will make for a good camping spot... pretty easy to get to and out of the way with a morning view of Mount Baker!! Not too much set-up either.
Oh, and for snacks? mixed nuts, bridge mixture (just a few), local strawberries and cherries! YUM!
Hopefully borrowing a friend's kayaks this weekend to explore some tide pools up close and also a day-sail is in the works...I feel a whale sighting!! I always say that! Then when it happens, I can say "See? See? I knew we'd see Whales today!!"
Peace,
Love,
Allan
